Good discussion today. I'm curious to see whether any of you will change your classifications after we finish dissecting "A Hunger Artist" tomorrow. To that end, please post a short (one sentence) answer to each of the following questions:
1. What might be admirable about fasting?
2. What might be admirable about a panther?

1. What might be admirable about fasting is that it shows you have control.
2.what might be admirable about a panther is that it draws a lot of attention.
1) I believe that there is really nothing admirable about fasting,the person that does it is basicly killing them selfs in a slow and painful way.
2)The panther in the story is admirable because it is happy and energetic , its basicly enjoing life even if it is caged up.

1. What i think is admirable about fasting is that the person shows enough dedication to stay focused on their goal.

1) I think there really honestly is no admirable thing about fasting.
2) What might be admirable about the panther is that it was full of energy and happy. Also drew lots of attention.
1) One thing that I find admirable about fasting is that a person can actualy prove that they can go more then a day with out eating which shows a great form of persistence. But i feel that fasting is only admirable only to certain point. For example, I felt that the hunger artist was admirable because he didnt give up, but later I felt that he went to far and got caught up with wanting so much attention which resulted in his death.
2)What I find admirable about the panther in the story is that the panther replaced the hunger artist. I feel that the people replaced the hunger artist with the panther to show that both were complete oposites. The panther was filled with joy and freedom while the hunger artist was so desperate for the need of attention.

Fasting is admirable due to the scarcity of people trying it. Often times, in order to fast some might need a reason to do it while others might need a cause or purpose to do it.
Panthers are admirable for their joy, their courage and mischief.
1)The thing that is most admirable about fasting is it takes a great deal of discipline to do.
2)The thing that was admirable about the panther was he was full of joy and life.
1) In order to fast it takes dedication, discipline, and lots of motivation which makes this an admirable thing to do.
2) A panther on the other hand is admirable because even when it's freedom is taken away' it finds joy even in the most secluded of places.
